About PavingPretoria

PavingPretoria is a paving project management service. We are not paving contractors ourselves — we are the layer between you and the contractor who does the work. We match you with a vetted contractor for your project, we manage the project from first call to final walkthrough, and we hold the work to standard.

Who we are

PavingPretoria is owned and operated by Big42 Group, a Pretoria-based digital publisher that operates a portfolio of niche websites. We started PavingPretoria because the Pretoria paving market has a real gap: homeowners who want a single point of contact instead of having to find, vet, and manage a paving contractor themselves.

What we do

1. Build and maintain this site with suburb pages, service pages, and a project submission form.
2. Run SEO, paid ads (limited), and content marketing to attract Pretoria homeowners who need paving work done.
3. Review every project submission (you tell us your suburb, service, area, and timing).
4. Match you with a vetted contractor from our roster — one who covers your suburb, does the type of work you need, and is available in your timeframe.
5. Arrange a free site visit and written quote from the contractor.
6. Stay on as your point of contact during the work. Check in. Do a final walkthrough. Resolve any issues before sign-off.

How our roster is built

Every contractor we work with must meet our minimum bar before we send them a single job:

• VAT-registered (so you get a proper tax invoice).
• Public liability insurance of at least R1M for residential work, R5M for commercial.
• At least 20 verifiable Google reviews with 4.5+ average, OR a portfolio of completed projects we can inspect in person.
• Already operating in the suburb (we don't send contractors on 60-minute drives).
• One job at a time (no juggling 5 sites simultaneously).
• Honest scoping (no surprise extras mid-job).

We turn down most contractors who apply. We remove any contractor on first homeowner complaint.

How we make money

After the contractor finishes your project and you've signed off, the contractor pays us a referral commission. This is paid out of their margin, not added to your quote. Your quote is the contractor's working price — no markup from us.

This model works because:

• The contractor gets a steady stream of pre-qualified leads from us without running their own ads or website.
• We get paid only when the work is completed to your satisfaction — we have skin in the game.
• You pay no fees to us. The site visit is free, the quote is free, the project management is free.

What we don't do

• We don't do the paving ourselves. We never will.
• We don't list multiple contractors and ask you to choose between them. That's not service — that's just shifting the work to you.
• We don't add a markup on top of the contractor's quote.
• We don't handle payment. You pay the contractor directly, in the schedule you both agree on.
• We don't provide legal warranties on the work. Those come from the contractor.
• We don't publish public price lists. Every paving project is different; a single R-per-m² number is misleading.

We currently cover Pretoria East, Pretoria North, Pretoria West, Pretoria Central, and Centurion — that's 50+ suburbs from Sunnyside to Silver Lakes, from Mamelodi to Irene. If your suburb isn't listed, mention it in the project details and we'll tell you honestly if we can help.
