Privacy Policy (POPIA)

1. Who we are

PavingPretoria is a paving project management service operated by Big42 Group (Pty) Ltd, registered in South Africa. We are the "responsible party" under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 ("POPIA").

2. What we collect

When you submit a paving project (form, WhatsApp, or phone), we collect:

  • Name
  • Phone number (required for the contractor to call you back)
  • Email (optional, if you want a copy of your submission)
  • Suburb (to match with a contractor who serves your area)
  • Service type (driveway, pool, patio, etc.)
  • Approximate area m² (helps the contractor scope)
  • When you want to start
  • Free-text project details (you choose what to share)
  • IP address and timestamp of submission (security and audit)

We also use Google Analytics 4 to track anonymous site usage. We do not run advertising cookies. We do not embed social media trackers.

3. Why we collect it

To match you with a vetted paving contractor who serves your suburb and does the work you need, to arrange a free site visit and quote, and to manage the project from first contact to final sign-off.

4. Who we share it with

One vetted paving contractor who serves your suburb and does the type of work you requested. That's it. Not advertisers, not data brokers, not other websites.

If your project is something we don't arrange (out of coverage, below minimum scope, etc.), we delete your details and don't share them with anyone.

5. How long we keep it

  • Active project submissions: 90 days after the last activity (after which the lead is closed and archived)
  • Audit logs (IP, timestamp): 12 months
  • Aggregated analytics: indefinite (no personal data)

6. Your rights under POPIA

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Delete your data (subject to legal retention requirements)
  • Object to processing
  • Withdraw consent at any time
  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator

To exercise any of these, email privacy@paving-pretoria.pages.dev. We respond within 30 days.

7. Security

Data is stored on Cloudflare Pages and a Cloudflare-hosted database. We use HTTPS for all data in transit. Access to personal data is restricted to authorised personnel. Despite our best efforts, no system is 100% secure — if you suspect a breach, contact us immediately.

8. Cross-border data transfers

Cloudflare stores data in regional data centres. Google Analytics 4 may process data outside South Africa. By using this site, you consent to these transfers as required for the services.

9. Children's privacy

We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has submitted data, email us and we'll delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Changes are effective immediately on posting. Material changes will be flagged on the homepage for 30 days.
